Travel from Krabi to Koh Samui on one pre-booked ticket with hotel pickup, an air-conditioned minivan or coach, and a high-speed ferry. Choose an 8:00, 9:30, or 11:30 departure. The route takes about 4 to 5 hours in ideal conditions, though delays and vehicle changes can make it longer.
“Initially when I booked I was sent an email saying the initial pick up time was wrong, and should read 10am instead of 11am. But the pick up was in fact 11am. So I was waiting for an hour for no reason. This should have been better organised. The air con on the coach was poor, a number of hours on the coach where it was too hot. A smooth transition onto from coach to ferry was good.”
Travel from Ao Nang or nearby Krabi beaches to Koh Lanta by Ao Nang Princess Ferry. A shared morning pickup takes you to Nopparat Thara Pier, followed by a roughly two-hour cruise to Saladan Pier. Bring a layer for cold air-conditioning, and arrange your Koh Lanta taxi ahead.
“Trip date 4.1.24. Due to leave harbour at 10.30am finally departed at 11.45am. In mid ocean the boats engines failed and we had to transfer to another ferry mid ocean! Very uncomfortable journey arriving 2 hours late!”

Travel from your hotel in Ao Nang, Krabi Town, Tub Kaek, Klong Muang, or Ao Nam Mao to Ao Nang Pier, then ride a ferry to Tonsai Pier on Phi Phi Don. The trip takes about two hours and may stop at Railay to collect passengers.
“We had ordered hotel pick up. The voucher said «start time 10:30», nothing else. We then assumed that we were picked up at the hotel at 10:30, since nothing else was informed. The boat left at 10:30. They sent me a message on their own website the day before, but I did not Get any notification on email, phone or anywhere else. They refused to refund. Poor!”
